Hello everyone. Apologies for lateness.

Hard to believe we’ve trickled into October and left behind what we used to call an Indian summer! Tempus fugit once again or ‘time and tide’ if you don’t know Latin!

After a tricky and sad bereavement year so far, I was glad to get back to some new material I started in the spring while sunning myself in the lovely Pafos and Cyprus and ‘pro’ British of course; right hand drive, 3 pin plugs etc Still some ‘old’ road signs in mph! People nice as ever.

Started new Childrens novel which is proving yet another challenge after the last-Cloverdaisy 2 (shortened title). That is with my ‘new’ publishers in London for their ‘in house’ edit along with ‘Richer not Poorer-Death was the Start’ my adult Romantic thriller. Hope to be done there end of year or early New one.

Both exciting but a slow process. Then again grateful, no longer self-publishing or consequently ‘hawking’ books round to various cultural markets, libraries or schools-all taken care of now! However I shall eventually be called upon to represent the publishers and canvass the new material but looking forwards to that very much.

Overall – like the current economy – I feel the retail book market is struggling as I often hear ‘there’s no money about! Yes things are tough on cost of living budgets with so little spare cash about but you keep going and hope & pray-in the absence of a dose of nepotism- that one’s name is the one that’s pulled out of the hat!

Once we wave October good-bye I shall canvass all the Makers and Artisan markets again with a mammoth book sale to clear old stock* and act a pre-cursor to the new one’s in the pipeline – exciting.

Ah well nearly Halloween & bonfire night looming so I’ll leave to the Witches & Guy Fawkes to do their ‘bit’ until Father-you know ‘who’ starts dusting his sleigh off!

Hasta luego & keep smiling!!

David xx
