As we’re heading for the middle of March I’ve posted the above banner as I wasn’t sure which Spring we are in? Leave you to decide and oh… a belated Happy New year!

Three months have passed my last news letter as did advent quicker than Christ’s birth! Family commitments in particular, wife’s Type1 diabetes & related vascular dementia takes a lot of time and toil but we keep on truckin. Much other stuff happened in that last quarter but every cloud has a silver lining; in my case a new-proper– publisher-hoorah!

Step forward Grosvenor House and in style. We ‘teamed up’ officially late November after agreeing mutual terms. Already we have landed running at a productive pace for both books -‘Cloverdaisy Part 2’  & ‘Richer not Poorer-Death was the Start’. Though early days I’m pleased with their prompt responses and professionalism although both books are now going through a proof reading/ copy editing stage. (There is a subtle difference but various aspects of that process overlap). On reflection it will greatly benefit both novels. Come early summer-June ‘ish-we shall start seeing results, especially with ‘Cloverdaisy 2’.

During this period I’m cracking on the my new young children’s adventure story-‘The Magical Pixies’ and…  ? which has already passed half way (approx 27000 words) Briefly, it brings in elements of both Cloverdasiy books and is extremely exciting and wildly adventurous! It has overtones of the late, great Terry Pratchett’s brilliant works so take that as a compliment: hard act to follow. Stephen King once said that ‘the best ideas come fron nowhere?! I’ll go for vivid imagination, creativity passion & ideas that simply pop up in my head-from beyond!

Once again,we’ve now entered the Easter lenten period so the 6 week countdown has started in the our household and the wider Church led communities – pancake day-now gone- but a surge of Easter egg adverts and the proverbial talk of Easter bunnies.

On a lighter more socialable scale , I and the rest of my family have two great sporting passions – football via Everton  F.C – up the Toffees! – and Horse racing-the jumps! Both are great for down time recreation to unwind and enjoy the sport. I rode as an amatuer jump jock in the 80’s 90’s. My crowning glory was a ride in the Liverpool Foxhunters aka the amateurs Grand National around Aintree! Unfortunately I unshipped 4 fences from ‘home’ but jumped The Chair & Beechers in the process- an amazing experience; one I’ll never forget!

Ah well, must crack on. As Arnie used to say…’I’lllll be bakkkk…

Before then two quotes to stir your mind or make you think or speak to Mum!

“You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”
C.S.Lewis

“Mother is far too clever to understand anything she does not like.”
Arnold Bennett
