News Update for spring quarter!

Happy Easter everyone and to this gorgeous sunshine after a mix of winter weather and the Lent Season behind us for another year! Hard to believe we are already sailing through April and the ‘B’ word strangling the country leaving us all in confusion and suspended animation!

However ‘normal’ life goes on as does the world of writing and books during days none of us ever gets back. Cheerful eh? Keep batting!

January and February were hibernation months for hawking so was full on writing and editing at my rooms in Daresbury. Both my editors were kept busy too but that costs!

I am reminded of the ‘Olde’ Farmer’s prayer… “Plan your life as if you’re going to live forever… live each day like your last!”

Book sales to the end of 2018 were satisfactory even during advent although my 60’s book “Winding the Clock Back” is still very popular such that I’ve recently ordered a reprint! It was originally published June 2014 and took over 4 years to write!

“Cloverdaisy” still steady but “The Magical Soap” poor despite the superb illustrations. The children’s books have been reduced ££ in my spring sale which continues til June.

As for new material-hence delay with this bulletin – I am at full stretch finishing “The Conker Tree Kids” – YAF fiction – and my romantic thriller – adults – “Richer not Poorer-Death was the Start!” I hope to get the former out by June and the latter, late autumn. The thriller has been a 3 year + project following a simple idea in June 2015! More to follow…

PR wise it doesn’t get any easier although I have started to target different Artisan markets geographically and is already paying off! Sales at the Northwich one in March were brilliant-held ‘indoors’ – thanks to the Town council that day for being innovative and supporting-to all the traders! Nantwich mid-April wasn’t as good books sold but plenty of interest; more than can be said for Cheshire schools who I canvassed in January – 30 flyers – but not one response-pathetic!

As for rest of spring calendar please check Facebook, Twitter and local ‘rag’; going be busy! Those kids ‘waiting’ for Cloverdaisy Part II will be disappointed. Not started… yet!!

Feedback as ever would be appreciated.

All the best. David.
Back in June!
